I study a variety of issues relating to democracy and democratization, conflict and violence, mining, foreign aid and development, especially in Sub-Saharan Africa, as well as lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights. I am particularly interested in Canadian policy in relation to those topics.
