Ma recherche porte sur l'évolution du français, en France et au Canada, et de façon générale sur la relation entre langue et société. Je m'intéresse particulièrement à la diversité régionale, aux langues en contexte minoritaire, au discours identitaire et à l’élaboration de normes linguistiques. Pour mes recherches, j'ai élaboré de larges corpus électroniques qui retracent l’histoire du français et des communautés francophones depuis les origines du français jusqu’à aujourd’hui.
