Federal Legislation – Legislative Research

There are five main research steps to legislative research:

1. Determine Jurisdiction
2. Determine the relevant legislation
3. Confirm a statute or regulation has come into force
4. Locate the statute or regulation
5. Update and "note up” the statute or regulation
