Determined to do something to alleviate the misfortune of the people of Louisiana who fell victim to hurricane Katrina, first-year common law students built a house that was later shipped to New Orleans. Over a period of three days in March 2006, a group of about 100 students divided into teams worked to erect the frame and the roof of the house in front of Ottawa City Hall.
Significant improvements to the University of Ottawa's Graduate Awards and Financial Assistance Program will allow an increasing number of students to complete graduate studies at the master's and PhD levels, but with fewer concerns about their financial situation. The changes to the program for Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be effective in May 2006.

Ryan Klomp, coordinator of learning technologies for the Student Academic Success Service, takes this thinking a step further. He sees the building itself as having the disability.
