If the University has all the trappings of a small town, the Physical Resources Service is like its municipal works section. Two recently created combined programs in law and social sciences will offer new opportunities to students who want to combine the study of law with political science or international development.

The Department of Music at the University of Ottawa is very pleased to announce the appointment of distinguished Canadian pianist Anton Kuerti as visiting professor starting in September 2006.
The seven-storey building located on 201 Main Street in a beautiful tree-filled area opened its doors in September 2005. It can accommodate 187 students who have access to a library lounge, a game room, a cinema-style movie lounge, a laundry room, and study rooms.
Professor Hussein Mouftah of the School of Information Technology and Engineering is the recipient of the Julian C. Smith Medal from the Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC) in recognition of his contribution to the development of Canada.
Dr. Alexis Turgeon, a clinical fellow in critical care medicine at the University of Ottawa, is the winner of the Garner King Award presented by the Canadian Critical Care Society.
