Research information:

Professor Collins is an expert in legal approaches to toxic substances, including environmental negligence, constitutional environmental rights under the Canadian Charter, and the international law of environmental human rights.  Professor Collins has testified in public hearings at the House and Senate Standing environment committees and at the European Parliament, and has participated by invitation in a number of UN consultative processes concerning the right to a healthy environment and the right to water.

Environmental law, particularly the role of courts in environmental disputes.  Focus on rules of procedure and the challenges of litigating environmental problems.  Particular focus on class actions, pre-trial injunctions, and rules of standing and interveners.  Effect of environmental ethics and environmental principles on procedure and other aspects of environmental law.
