More than 40 years of experience with CIDA, IDRC and NGOs. Lived and worked several years as a professional in several South and South East Asian Countries (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar). Travelled widely and continues to make quarterly visits (especially Afghanistan, Bangladesh and India) and other developing countries for research purposes.

My research is on the issue of relations between state and religion in the People's Republic of China, Taiwan, and Eats Asia, within the contexts of an analysis of social policy and welfare regimes, the study of identity politics and nationalism, and the examination of political change.
