I specialize in the cultural and literary history of the English-speaking world from 1890 through the 1960s, with a particular focus on the British literature and history of the First World War. My current project offers a reappraisal of the work of certain literary propagandists in light of recent shifts in the war's historiography. I have recently appeared as a guest on BBC Radio 4's documentary program '1914-1918:The Cultural Front', and I am a regular contributor to the University of Oxford's First World War centenary project, 'Continuations and Beginnings'.Area(s) of expertise:
