United Way goal within reach

With the support of hundreds of donors on campus, the uOttawa United Way campaign had collected $323,500 as of November 21, representing just over 90% of the goal.

“I want to sincerely thank all those who have made their pledge,” said Daniel Morin, co-chair of the 2005 United Way campaign. “In doing so they have shown their solidarity, not only with their work colleagues, but also with all the people who are contributing to a better life in our community through their efforts on behalf of United Way-funded agencies.”

While the campaign ‘officially’ ended on November 17, “there is still more than ample time to make a donation,” Morin added. “For volunteers, the work is continuing. We want to reach our goal because many organizations are counting on our support.”

“When we give to United Way, we are really helping ourselves since we all have someone within our circle of friends, family or workplace who has benefited from the services offered by a United Way-funded agency.”

How to give? It’s easy. Just go to www.unitedway.uOttawa.ca and follow instructions to enter your donation online.

You can also download the PDF version of the pledge form on the site or contact Jeannine Charette, campaign administrator at 562-5800, ext. 2756 or by email at jcharet@uOttawa.ca to request a form. Please return the completed form to her, via intra mail at Room 210, Tabaret Hall.

Morin emphasized the essential role played by the 160-or-so volunteers working tirelessly for the campaign. “I thank them from the bottom of my heart. These are the people who are at the front line in faculties and services and on whom the success of the campaign depends entirely.”
