Sylvie Lauzon is the new associate vice-president academic. She assumed the position on September 1.
Lauzon holds the rank of associate professor at the University of Ottawa and was previously director of the School of Nursing and associate dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences. She replaces François Houle, who recently became dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
In her new position, Lauzon is responsible for maintaining the quality and relevance of undergraduate programs. She will also oversee the development of the University strategies and objectives related to programs and services in French.

Lauzon has been especially helpful to new professors and supportive of colleagues and students in their efforts to become bilingual.
