The University of Ottawa held a “Hats off to Shirley” reception on June 1, 2005 to celebrate and mark the importance of Shirley Greenberg’s contribution to the University. Greenberg, left, made the largest-ever individual donation — $3 million — to establish an endowed chair in the study of women and the law in the Common Law Section. Barbara Crook, centre, and Maureen McTeer were among the attendees who applauded the guest of honour at the reception, where a hat was de rigueur.
