Three appointments in high-profile positions have recently been confirmed as part of an important restructuring in the office of the vice-rector, university relations.

Lyse Huot has been named director of communications, while Paul Boult assumes the position of director of marketing. Both are University of Ottawa alumni.

Also, Lucie Châtelain has been named manager of development in the campaign office.

Huot has been with the University for nine years. First hired as a communications officer, Lyse Huot has also been manager of communications and was the interim director of marketing and communications.

She has over 25 years of communications background, having worked in several not-for-profit organizations and on Parliament Hill, notably as press attaché for the former leader of the New Democratic Party of Canada, Ed Broadbent.

In her new role, Huot will be responsible for media relations, integrated communications and Web site content for marketing and communications services.

Before joining the University in 1990, Boult worked in several ad agencies. He has held a number of jobs within the Marketing and Communications Service. Recently, he has been responsible for the University’s branding campaign. In his new role, Boult will continue to promote the brand image, support the University’s upcoming fundraising campaign and act as a consultant for marketing purposes.
