University of Ottawa professors Ruby Heap and Michael Orsini were recently named Canada-U.S. Fulbright Program scholars.
Ruby Heap is a professor in the University of Ottawa’s Department of History. Her research focus is on women who have completed graduate studies and women and their careers, specifically women in engineering. Professor Heap will become the Fulbright Visiting Chair in Canadian Studies at Kennesaw State University. She will also work with senior researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology’s Center for the Study of Women, Science, and Technology.
Michael Orsini is an associate professor at the University of Ottawa’s School of Political Studies and a principal scientist with the Institute of Population Health. His research focuses on health policy and politics and, in particular, the influence of health social movements in Canada and the U.S. Professor Orsini has accepted the Fulbright Visiting Research Chair in Canadian Studies at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. The Chair will reside at the Canadian Studies Center of the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies.
The Canada-U.S. Fulbright Program is a central part of the world’s largest and most prestigious academic exchange program. The aim of the program is to enhance mutual understanding between the peoples of Canada and the United States through these exchanges.
