Danny Albert, Transportation Demand Management Coordinator
What is your most important role at the University?
My most important role at the University is developing sustainable means of transportation that encourage members of the University community to get around without necessarily using their cars. Our travel should not harm the environment!
What inspires you the most about your work?
What is satisfying in my work is seeing the domino effect when one person changes their habits in how they get around. The global impact of our initiatives inspires me to keep expanding our sustainable transportation program.
If you had the power, what would you change in the world today?
I find climate change more and more troubling, and I think that we all have a role to play in solving this problem. There are a number of global concerns we should all be fighting for.
What is your favourite pastime?
When I’m not working, I enjoy sports (volleyball, tennis, working out at the gym, skiing, biking) and of course reading.
What is your best quality?
My best quality is the ability to stop and assess what I’m doing so that I can make the necessary adjustments to improve who I want to be, while respecting my integrity.
What is the best kept secret in your service?
People are often very surprised by the variety of services and programs we offer… from self-defence to bike-sharing and more, all in a single service.
