The Sens Foundation and the Max Keeping Foundation, in partnership with the University of Ottawa, presented the second annual Just One Person awards ceremony. This scholarship program for youth-in-care was established in 2006 to provide support for post-secondary education.

The event raised $30,000. With matching contributions from the University of Ottawa and the Government of Ontario’s Ontario Trust for Student Support, $90,000 has been raised to help to establish a scholarship at the University of Ottawa.

The Just One Person program has an accompanying community award which acknowledges the contributions of a citizen of Ottawa who has helped ensure the health and well-being of children and families. Bell Executive Sal Iacono is the winner of this year’s award. He works tirelessly to make a difference in the community, in particular with the United Way and Easter Seals campaigns.
