The University of Ottawa recognized three exceptional individuals at the 2007 Distinguished Canadian Leadership Awards.

At a special dinner on October 30, 2007 at the National Gallery of Canada, Paul Desmarais, Sr., chairman of the executive committee of the Power Corporation of Canada, the Rt. Hon. Adrienne Clarkson, former Governor General of Canada, and retired Supreme Court justice, the Hon. In addition, former Canadian ambassador to the United Nations and former cabinet minister Allan Rock was honoured with the Meritas Tabaret Award, the uOttawa Alumni Association’s highest award to alumni.

“The 2007 recipients of these awards live and breathe the goals we strive to achieve as a community and we are thankful for the opportunity to learn from them,” said President Gilles Patry.
