New uOttawa Fulbright Scholars

The Canada-U.S. Fulbright Program recently announced two new Fulbright scholars from the University of Ottawa: professors Evan Potter and Jan Veizer.
 
Evan Potter of the Department of Communication assumes the Fulbright University of Southern California Visiting Research Chair in Public Diplomacy. Professor Potter will be teaching and conducting research on contemporary Canadian public diplomacy.

Earth Sciences professor Jan Veizer takes up the position of Fulbright Scholar at the California Institute of Technology. Professor Veizer will further his research on oxygen isotope paleothermometry, which is aimed at determining trends in atmospheric conditions.

At the same time, the Faculty of Law is pleased to welcome Penn State professor Gary Gildin as the Fulbright University of Ottawa Visiting Research Chair in International Humanitarian Law. His research compares the Canadian approach to addressing Charter of Rights and Freedoms violations with the U.S. approach to violations against the Bill of Rights.
