Daniel Castillo Durante, professor in the Department of Français, joins five authors as winners of the Ontario government’s prestigious award for literature.
Castillo Durante is co-winner of the Trillium Book Award in French language for his novel, La passion des nomades. He will split the $20,000 prize money with Paul Savoie for his book of poetry, Crac.

Taking his father’s lover as his mistress, he travels to Montreal, not realizing that his own fate will be sealed there. The Trillium Jury said, “With humour and some amazing twists, Daniel Castillo Durante tells a story filled with passion and, for every reader, a true revelation.”
