Work Climate Survey 2006

During the last week of September, all staff — full-time, part-time and term — had  the opportunity to complete the first annual web-based confidential work climate survey. The survey results will tell senior management how staff view their jobs and roles at the University.

In total 1,775 individuals, representing almost half of all staff members completed the survey, taking the opportunity to share their views on the University and their work environment.

Breakdown of participation by employee category:

•    Regular Academic Staff: 489 respondents (49% participation)

•    Regular Support Staff: 951 respondents (68% participation)

•    Term Support Staff: 236 respondents (39% participation)

•    Part-Time Academic Staff: 99 respondents (14% participation)

According to President Gilles Patry, “Overall, this represents a fairly strong participation rate for a first all-staff survey and it will provide sufficient data for the University to identify key drivers of employee engagement and work climate in order to establish our Work Climate Index and related action plans.”
