Suzanne Piette, the Faculty of Education’s administrative assistant, can be counted on to bring her sense of initiative, her integrity, her professional commitment and teamwork skills to every situation.
Her contributions were recognized on October 16 when she received the Faculty of Education Support Staff Award of Excellence.
“Whenever a situation arises that calls for a ‘take-charge’ approach, the faculty can count on Suzanne Piette to be up to the challenge,” says Pat Smith, acting assistant to the dean, who has worked with Piette in many different contexts.
No matter how busy she is, Suzanne is always ready to help her team by taking on added responsibilities, especially during the busiest periods. She constantly goes beyond what is expected of her, whether helping a colleague, offering guidance to a new employee, or making sure the work of an absent colleague gets done.
“In my 35 years as a member of the educational community,” adds Smith, “I have rarely interacted with as respectful, receptive and constructive a person as Suzanne Piette.”
The Faculty of Education also recognized outstanding contributions to teaching and research by Cheryll Duquette (Award of Excellence in Teaching); Colla Jean MacDonald (Award for Excellence in Research) and Nicola Gazzola (New Researcher Award).
