International Car Free Day

Car Free Day is an international event celebrated in approximately 1,500 cities to raise awareness of the environmental, social and economic impact caused by our dependency on cars.

The University will celebrate Car Free Day on September 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (although cancelled in the event of inclement weather) in parking
lot X (near Vanier Hall).

Organized by uOttawa’s Transportation Demand Management program and Green Campus, a student-run environmental club, Car Free Day will feature a DJ from CHUO, games, dunk tank, demonstrations — including bike repairs, and a lunch-hour barbecue.

Make September 22 a day to walk, bike, rollerblade, take public transit or carpool to the University.
