Stocking up for the holiday season

Julie Cafley, Liaison Manager, Strategic Enrollment Management

For a seventh consecutive year, I’m coordinating a Christmas stocking drive for underprivileged children. It grows every year!

The Ottawa Food Bank has provided me with a long list of children from low-income families in our community. I’m looking for volunteers right here on campus to help in making this holiday season more cheerful for these kids.

Contact me via email (that’s the only way to reach me since I’m on maternity leave) at jcafley@uottawa.ca and I will provide you with the name and age of a child. You can then fill a stocking with some fun gifts and a couple of practical items (toothbrush, soap, etc.). Put everything in a plastic bag clearly labelled with the name and age of your sponsored child and deliver the package to Room 082, Tabaret Hall, between December 9 and 11. I’ll make sure it’s delivered to the children in time for holiday celebrations.

On behalf of the kids, thank you so much for giving of yourself in this way. Happy holidays!
