Ongoing research:
Organizational Memory in action
This research project is interested in the organizational memory, i.e. with knowledge, experiments, know-how, memories, rites and myths that belong to an organization and form an immaterial capital to be transmitted to employees and shared with them. The internal communication is important for the construction and transmission of an organizational memory. This internal communication rests as much on the actors of the organization (their speech, history, culture) as on the artifacts present in the environment (archives, files, information processing systems). The objective of the project is to analyze the organizational memory as an actionable memory. We should understand how the organizational memory is safeguarded, diffused and used by the organization and by its members. With this intention, we propose to work out a new manner of analyzing the organizational memory through an empirical study within an emergency communication centre (Cooperative des techniciens ambulanciers de l’Outaouais).
