Active in both private and public sector projects, Dr. Bonin’s research interests are in the areas of organizational administration, evaluation, and public finance. He has been recognized for his contributions to several university, professional and community groups and committees, notably with an honorary life membership by the Canadian Society for the Study of Higher Education. He is a member of the Heritage College Board of Governors and of the Dominican University College Board of Directors.
Dr. Bonin completed an Honours degree in arts and a Bachelor of Education at the University of Manitoba, and began his career as a teacher-librarian. Following a graduate degree in history from the University of Alberta and a Master of Science in library science from Drexel University in Philadelphia, he worked at the Winnipeg Public Library. Appointments as Assistant Director (Administrative Services) with the University of Manitoba Libraries and Associate Librarian at the University of Toronto preceded his terms as Director of the Laurentian University Library and of the libraries at Concordia University.
