Professors – About the Co-Curricular Record

The Co-Curricular Record (CCR) is a university document that records approved and verified volunteer activities undertaken by students, both on and off campus, whether they are completed as part of a course or outside of a course. The CCR, which is signed by the Vice President Academic and Provost, can help students when the time comes to apply for graduate studies or employment.

Students who participate in CSL assignments are automatically eligible to have their volunteer experience added to their CCR, where it will be listed as curriculum-based, rather than extra-curricular.

Students simply need to make sure that:

  • They are registered and matched with their placement in their ELS Student Account;
  • They bring in their validated log sheet to the ELS office at the end of the semester (this log sheet is then forwarded to you, the professor);
  • An evaluation of their volunteer services is submitted to the ELS office by the community supervisor (the results of this evaluation is also made available to you through your online account).

Students’ registered volunteer experiences are recorded in their online account, and held by the ELS Office for five years after graduation. Anytime they wish, they may request to have their CCR printed. Students are entitled to one free copy per year of their CCR, which is printed on watermarked paper to prevent photocopying. Additional copies can be ordered for $5 each.
