Research information:

My primary field of research deals with paleoclimatology and paleolimnology, i.e. the study of ancient climates and hydrological systems, and includes a strong modelling component. My research is primarily focused on the Holocene period and the last 1000 years. This historical approach allows to assess: (1) the timing and magnitude of past and recent changes in hydrological regimes; (2) the exceptional nature of recent climate and hydrological changes in a long term perspective; (3) the causes of hydroclimatic change; and (4) the vulnerability of hydrological systems to climate change.
