Research information:

Our research targets novel approaches for the efficient syntheses of nitrogen-containing molecules. Over 90% of pharmaceuticals possess at least one nitrogen atom in their structure, and nitrogen atoms are also prevalent in agrochemicals, and in bulk chemicals (for example isocyanates used in the paints, coatings and form industries).

Research information:

Our research is targeting important industrial issues related to the production of commodity chemicals. To this end, we are synthesizing and characterizing new catalytic systems based on several transition metals with the goal of to improving catalytic behavior through the understanding of the reaction mechanisms. As part of mechanistic studies we are also endeavouring the isolation of catalytically active intermediates.  The processes targeted are olefin polymerization and selective oligomerization.  These studies are conducted in close collaboration with the University of Eindhoven (The Netherlands) and Industrial sector (Dutch Polymer Institute, Sabic).

Research information:

My main field of research is targeting the salt-sensitive high blood pressure. This particular kind of high blood pressure has been connected with a genetic component that is inherited from parents to offspring and that is usually exacerbated by high salt-intake. As a Geneticist Candidate and a Pharmacist, I am investigating the genes that might be involved in transmitting that genetic form of high blood pressure.
