Two University units recently been renamed.
As of November 15, 2005, the Department of Sociology has been renamed the “Department of Sociology and Anthropology” partly in recognition of a new baccalaureate program in anthropology that will be introduced in September 2006.
Meanwhile, the Library Network is now being called the “University of Ottawa Library.” The network designation had been introduced in the early 1980s to ensure that all libraries saw themselves as part of the group. “There is no longer a need for such a designation,” says Chief Librarian Leslie Weir, “as all libraries see themselves as part of the University of Ottawa Library.”
