The University of Ottawa is leading a new alliance that will help to commercialize the inventions and ideas arising from research.
The Ottawa-Gatineau University-College Regional Innovation Alliance is the first step in a plan to forge stronger links between academic institutions and local organizations with expertise in technology transfer, entrepreneurship and innovation. Five other area institutions will participate in the alliance with the University of Ottawa: Carleton University, Algonquin College, Université du Québec en Outaouais, Cégep de l’Outaouais and La Cité Collégiale.
It is one of sixteen group projects being funded by the Intellectual Property Mobilization Program, a joint venture by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).
