Howard Alper, uOttawa’s vice-president research and a professor of chemistry, is the 2005 recipient of the Award for Distinguished Service to Research Librarianship from the Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL).
The award is presented annually to an individual at a CARL-member institution who has made a substantial local, national and international contribution to academic research librarianship.
Alper received this year’s award in recognition of his leadership as chair of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Research Knowledge Network, formerly the Canadian National Site Licensing Project.
