Legal advisors honour Boucher; elect Prud’homme

Boucher & Prud'homme
Pierre-Yves Boucher, secretary of the University of Ottawa, received the John Hackett Memorial Award at the annual conference of the Canadian Association of University Solicitors (CAUS). Boucher, founding member and former president of CAUS, was awarded the prize in recognition of his leadership, goodwill, friendship and rigorous legal scholarship in University legal issues.

The award was named in honour of John Hackett, an original and founding member of the Association, who passed away in 1999.

Boucher’s nomination for the award was submitted by Kathryn Prud’homme, legal counsel at the University of Ottawa, and a member of CAUS since 1994.

Coincidently, Prud’homme is the newly-elected president for 2005-2006. “I am honoured and excited to act as president for the next year. This is a group that I have admired for the last 12 years,” she says.

Prud’homme is the second uOttawa representative to preside over CAUS, which was founded in 1980.
