$200,000 scholarship awarded to social science student

Marie-Joie Brady
A student in the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Social Sciences, Marie-Joie Brady, is among the 14 recipients from across Canada of a $200,000 scholarship from the Pierre Elliot Trudeau Foundation.

In addition to allowing Brady to complete a doctorate in political studies at the University of Ottawa, the scholarship will provide her with an opportunity to establish contacts with a group of the Trudeau Foundation’s member researchers.

The primary goal of Marie-Joie Brady’s project is to examine the theme of foundation in the light of the Canadian experience. To accomplish that, she will conduct a critical analysis of the relationships between anglophones, first nations and francophones.

The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation's goal is to generate and enhance public debate on society’s major issues and to provide citizens of Canada and the world with a deeper experience of, and commitment to, democracy.
