Tellier donation brings endowment to $1.2 million

Paul TellierAn array of leaders from Canada’s largest corporations and from the public service gathered for dinner at the University of Ottawa, on June 15, to recognize the accomplishments of University alumnus Paul M. Tellier. Guests were treated to an act of generosity from the guest of honour when Tellier made a personal pledge to match the $100,000 raised at the dinner for the CN-Paul M. Tellier Chair in Business-Government Relations.

The University of Ottawa and the Canadian National Railway Company created the Chair to honour Tellier’s unique record as a leader in both the public and private sectors. The gift from CN to establish the chair, combined with the funds raised at the dinner, brings the chair’s endowment to $1.2 million.

“I am extremely moved by this honour especially coming from my alma mater. The study of the relationship between the private and public sectors in Canada is essential to the future of our country’s success and productivity. I’m proud to be a part of that work,” Tellier said.

A search is currently underway for the first Tellier Chair holder.
