Beginning this fall, the University of Ottawa will provide 74 new scholarships worth $1,000 each to student athletes who are members of Gee-Gees sports teams.
The financial awards will be given to students who have shown outstanding leadership or exceptional athletic performance at a high level of competition, while achieving a grade point average of 70 per cent or better.
Sports Services Director Luc Gélineau believes these new awards will attract the best student athletes from across Canada to the University of Ottawa.
