Ten professors make award shortlist

Eight professors from the University of Ottawa and two from Saint Paul University are among the 65 finalists for the 2005 Capital Educators’ Awards.

A committee selected the finalists from among 240 nominations received, including 140 for uOttawa educators.

The University of Ottawa and Saint Paul University finalists are:

  • Marion Barfurth, Education
  • John Basso, Biology
  • Vijay Kapal, Cellular and Molecular Medicine
  • Gilles Labelle, Political Studies
  • Abdul Hosein Rahman, Management
  • Marc Salter, Political Studies
  • Christine Suurtamm, Education
  • Pierre Trudel, Human Kinetics
  • Kenneth Melchin, Theology (Saint Paul)
  • Carolyn Sharp, Theology (Saint Paul)

The judging committee must now choose 16 winners from the list of finalists. The winners will be announced on Wednesday, May 11, 2005.
