Nathalie Des Rosiers, dean of the Faculty of Law, Civil Law Section, and Michel Prévost, chief archivist at the University of Ottawa were named persons of the year by Le Droit / Radio-Canada. Des Rosiers was named in the Health, Education and High-tech category while Prévost was named in the Arts and Culture category.

Film producer and University alumna Denise Robert won the top award as the 2004 Le Droit / Radio-Canada person of the year.

Robert, Des Rosiers and Prévost were chosen from among all the persons of the week nominated by Le Droit / Radio-Canada over the course of 2004.

The civil law dean was chosen for her involvement and vision of Canadian justice.

Michel Prévost, recipient of several distinctions, including an award of merit from the Ontario Museums Association, was selected for his involvement and support of the history and heritage of Ottawa and the national capital region.

Other University of Ottawa staff members who were named personalities of the week in 2004 included Dr. Wilbert Keon, Micháel J. Kelly, Thomas Brabec, Diane Pacom, Joël Beddows and Gérald-A. Beaudoin.
