Lucie Mercier-Gauthier was appointed to the position of associate vice-rector, Financial Services on January 21.
Her responsibilities include the management of four sectors: financial planning, supplies and services, systems and training, as well as accounts.
Mercier-Gauthier has been with the University since 1983. A chartered accountant since 1982, she also has a baccalaureate specializing in commerce from the University of Ottawa. From 1994 until her recent appointment, she was the director of Financial Services.
Throughout her career, she has played a key role in various organizations, such as le Regroupement des gens d’affaires de l’Outaouais and the Canadian Association of University Business Officers.
In the fall of 2004, Mercier-Gauthier received the top Distinguished Leadership Award from the Council of Finance Officers of Ontario. She was also recognized as an outstanding volunteer by the magazine, University Manager.
