Seven new CRCs announced

The University of Ottawa is welcoming seven new researchers as Canada Research Chairs.

The announcement, which was made in Vancouver on November 12 by Prime Minister Paul Martin, means there are now 33 Canada Research Chairs at the University.

The newest chairholders and their focus of research are:

  • Dr. Marjorie Brand, regulation of gene expression
  • Dr. Pierre Blier, psychopharmacology
  • Dr. Daniel Figeys, proteomics and systems biology
  • Dr. Mads Kaern, systems biology
  • Dr. Ronald Labonte, global health equity
  • Dr. Christian Rouillard, governance and public management
  • Dr. Rhian Touyz, hypertension
