Former Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chrétien helps legendary jazz pianist, Oscar Peterson, to the stage to receive his Distinguished Canadian Leadership Award on October 19. Peterson was honoured along with Roméo Dallaire, former head of the Rwanda peacekeeping force, and Beverley McLachlin, Chief Justice of Canada.
As part of this remarkable evening attended by some 400 guests at the National Gallery of Canada, Daniel Lamarre, president and chief executive officer of the Cirque du Soleil received the Alumni Association's Meritas-Tabaret Award.
