Knowledge network expanded

The newly established Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN), headquartered at the University of Ottawa, will increase access to digital resources for the benefit of academic researchers nation-wide. Vice-rector of research, Howard Alper, chairs the network's Board of Directors.

CRKN builds on initiatives begun in 2000 under the Canadian National Site Licensing Project. It will ensure that more than 2,200 scholarly journals and key research databases will continue to be made available online to over 650,000 university researchers and students across Canada.

The expanded partnership will now open membership to additional institutions from the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada and to other degree-granting institutions in Canada.
