University welcomes new generation of doctors

Medicine convocation

A new generation of doctors received their diplomas during the Faculty of Medicine’s ceremony of professional engagement and convocation held at the Canadian Museum of Civilization on May 21, 2004.

During the ceremony, Drs. Kenneth Marshall and John Seely were specially recognized as professors emeritus.

New graduate Anne-Marie Therrien (centre), summa cum laude, was the recipient of the University of Ottawa’s gold medal, an award from the Association des médecins de langue française du Canada, and the Frank P. Kraft Award in family medicine. Therien is shown here, left to right, with Gilles Patry, rector, Huguette Labelle, chancellor, Dr. Brigitte Bonin, assistant-dean, undergraduate medical education, and Dr. Peter Walker, dean of the Faculty of Medicine.
