Department of Visual Arts had a “very good year”

Diane BondsVisual Arts graduates Krissy Darch and Diane Bond (pictured here with one of her art pieces) were the 2004 co-winners of the Suzanne Rivard-LeMoyne Prize for artistic excellence. The prize, awarded annually to a graduating student in visual arts, was presented during the opening ceremony of the annual grad show.

The winners were chosen from among 49 graduates by a jury consisting of regular professors in the Department of Visual Arts and Diana Nemiroff, curator of modern art at the National Gallery of Canada.

“It was a very good year for the department,” said director Penny Cousineau-Levine. “Our graduates produced a very high level of work and we know that many of them will go on to become professional artists and make an important contribution to the Canadian art community.”
