The annual YMCA/YWCA Women of Distinction Awards honoured geography and religious studies student Stacey Lance as a “Young Trail Builder” at a ceremony on April 29, 2004.
Lance has dedicated her youth to working with children and with cancer research organizations. A volunteer with the Terry Fox Run, the Run for the Cure, the Starlight Foundation and the Sandy Hill Day Care, Lance hopes to become a teacher.
Engineering student Natasa Blitvic was also nominated in the Young Trail Builder category.
