Doctor recognized for knowledge transfer work

Dr. Jeremy Grimshaw is one of two winners of the Knowledge Translation Award given out by Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).

The award recognizes an individual or team involved in collaborative health research, or the development of projects that advance and expand knowledge transfer. Grimshaw shared the prize with the Occupations Health and Safety Agency for Health Care in British Columbia.

The 2004 CIHR awards reception was held in Ottawa and was co-hosted by the University of Ottawa.

Grimshaw’s work includes synthesizing research publications and medical discoveries for physicians so they may use these new finds in their daily practice.

Grimshaw came to the University of Ottawa in 2002 as a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair. He is a senior scientist in the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) and a member of the Institute of Population Health.
