Student wins geotechnical competition

Geotechnical Master's candidate Kenton Power won the graduate students' public speaking competition at the 27th Annual Student Forum held on March 2, 2004 by The Ottawa Geotechnical Group.

His presentation was entitled “The Consolidation Behaviour of Unsaturated Soils”. Power will be receiving a certificate of recognition and cash prize.

The Ottawa Geotechnical Group will also sponsor Power to attend the 57th Canadian Geotechnical Conference to be held in Quebec in October 2004, where he will present a paper based on the research results of his Master’s thesis.

Power's thesis supervisors are Dr. Sai Vanapalli and Dr. Vinod K. Garga.
