Almost 1,000 alumni and graduating students have bought this specially engraved official ring, which symbolically captures the spirit and character of the University of Ottawa. Only students in their graduating year, or alumni who have attained a degree or completed at least 48 credits at the University of Ottawa, are eligible to wear the ring.

About 40 people attended the second annual University ring ceremony on February 23. The rector presented 13 rings to alumni as part of the event - including one each to Dr. Joseph Molino, PhD 1982, and his daughter Lena Molino, BA 2002.
