Environment minister urges more action on Kyoto

David Anderson with reporters

Federal Environment minister David Anderson drew a media crowd when he came to the University to address the Student Environmental Law Society about Canada’s stance on the Kyoto Protocol.

“Canada’s universities need to play a more public role on climate change issues across many disciplines,” Anderson noted. “Science is fundamental in driving the case for action (on climate change),” he added. “We have to take action in all key areas: transportation, housing and commercial/institutional buildings, large industrial emitters, renewable energy, agriculture and forests, small- and medium-sized enterprises; and the international market.”
