New SFUO president elected

Philippe Laliberté was elected president of the Student Federation of the University of Ottawa for 2004-2005 with 67.5 percent of the votes during the election held February 9-12. His two opponents were Éric Lalonde and Paul Radford.

Jocelyne Turner defeated Margot Leduc for the position of vice-president, student affairs. Three other vice-presidents were elected unopposed: Morgan Fielding, finance, Dan Bova (second term), academic affairs, and Guillaume Lemieux, social affairs.

Students also voted for the establishment of a new association to represent people with handicaps and for a new accessibility fund.

About 1,875 students took part in the election.
