Gee-Gees score best ever performance at OUA swim meet

The host University of Ottawa Gee-Gees wrapped up the program's best performance ever at the 2004 OUA championship winning 12 medals over the entire event, which was held February 13-15.

On the last day of the competition, Louis David Bonneau narrowly missed a third individual gold medal, settling for silver in the 100 m freestyle. Overall the Gee-Gees picked up five medals on the final day of competition.

Bonneau won two golds at 200 m freestyle and the 100 m backstroke.

Veteran Ottawa swimmers Alex Hayes and Lauren Fratesi were stellar in the distance events, with Hayes taking the 1,500 m freestyle, and Fratesi earning silver in the 800 m freestyle.
