New network for using technology to support learning strategies

Thanks to the Centre for E-Learning, the University of Ottawa is now a member of the New Media Consortium (NMC). This international consortium serves as a catalyst for the development of new applications of technology to support learning and creative expression.

The NMC offers a range of services, including:

-    Exclusive on line discussion groups, which explore emerging technologies, solutions to technological challenges, management challenges and issues, staff development and training and pedagogy;
-    Free grant writing consultation services and assistance identifying partners for funded projects;
-    NMC’s research reports, newsletters and other publications; and
-    Custom Survey Service.

Anyone from the University community with an interest in emerging technologies on teaching, learning or creative expression can set up an account for the site and indicate which of the available listservs they would like to join.
